SMALL GROUP CLASS FAQ

How do I know if a group class is right for my student?

Give us a call at (415) 237-3377 or book a complimentary consultation here! We can discuss your student's testing history (if any), goals, and needs to help determine if a group, individual, or customized hybrid program is appropriate.

Where are classes located?

Marigold Prep's group classes take place live via Zoom.

What do the classes cover?

Marigold Prep's group classes introduce students to the SAT's structure, patterns, and key strategies. Each class covers equal parts math and verbal content, heavily emphasizing teaching students to think like the test writers.

What's the difference between a 10-hour class, a 16-hour class, and a 24-hour class?

While each class covers the fundamental skills and strategies required for the SAT and ACT, longer classes allow for a deeper dive. A 10-hour class introduces students to the SAT, while longer classes enable us to explore, practice, and reinforce content and concepts more completely.

What is included in my group class enrollment?

In addition to live, expert-led instruction, students receive access to Marigold Prep's adaptive practice platform, which includes practice tests and thousands of practice questions. As students master new skills, the practice questions increase in difficulty, meaning they'll never waste time covering content they already know!

How many students are in each class?

Each class is capped at 12 students to ensure comprehensive and collaborative instruction.

What if my student misses a class?

Absent students will receive a complete recording, transcript, notes, and practice materials from any class they miss. They are also encouraged to reach out to their tutor individually with questions.

What do you suggest if my student has unique scheduling and/or learning needs?

If your student has an unpredictable schedule or unique learning needs, we suggest you contact us to discuss a customized private tutoring program.

Do you offer ACT classes?

Due to low demand from the Xaverian community, we will not offer ACT classes this semester. If your student is preparing for the ACT, please contact us to discuss a private tutoring program.

Upcoming Practice Tests

All students receive a detailed score analysis, which includes a categorical breakdown of strengths and areas of improvement!

Practice Test FAQ

Who are Marigold Prep's practice tests for?

Marigold Prep’s practice tests are for any student who is interested in being exposed to official test material in a proctored, but unofficial setting. First-time test takers, seasoned veterans, and everyone in between can benefit from the process.

When will I get my scores?

Students will be routed to a detailed score analysis as soon as they finish testing.  We encourage families to book a free score report review so they can interpret the data with an expert.

Where do practice tests take place?

Practice tests are hosted live, via Zoom. Students who cannot attend a live, proctored date can still receive access to a practice test, digital proctor tool, detailed score analysis, and complimentary score report review.

Are practice tests digital or pencil and paper?

Yes. Since the official SAT is not a digital, adaptive exam, our practice tests are digital and adaptive, too.

Can I take a practice test with accommodations?

Time and a half is available on both live, proctored dates and with a digital proctor tool. Please contact us directly if your student has more complex accommodations.

Who sees my scores?

That is completely up to you! This is not an official test sitting, meaning colleges will not see these scores. Once you have your score report you can share it with a family member, college counselor, or anyone else of your choice.

What’s next?

Every student enrolled in a practice test can take advantage of a complimentary score report review with a test expert. We’ll discuss strengths, areas of opportunities, and a potential plan for an official test.
