Who are Marigold Grade Savers for?
Marigold Prep’s free Grade Savers are for any high school student who needs academic support in any major subject, including honors, IB, and AP classes. Each hour is dedicated to a broad academic area (ie: Math, English, Science, History), because our tutors can support students in each subject that falls within those areas.
How do Marigold Grade Savers work?
Marigold Prep's free Grade Savers are like virtual office hours, where students drop in on their time to receive on-demand support from a subject expert tutor. Free registration is required, but remains open until each event starts unless the time slot is full. Students do not have to be present for an entire session to attend, but are strongly encouraged to notify us if they need to cancel all together.
How many students are in each Grade Saver?
Marigold Prep limits each Grade Saver to 5 students, ensuring everyone receives 10-15 minutes of dedicated time with a tutor. If a student joins a virtual classroom while another student is receiving help, they will enter a short queue. Wait times are generally around 10 minutes.
What if I don't see a time slot that works for my student?
Email us! We will be adding more times based on demand, and will do our best to accommodate as many students as possible.
Is this an adequate substitute for private tutoring?
Not necessarily. Grade Savers are a resource for the "crunch time" of finals and the more isolated needs that come with it. Students with bigger picture needs often benefit from bigger picture programs, but Grade Savers can be a tool to get them comfortable with our personalized, virtual learning environment.
